What happens at the border

1
Gather your documents
Collect all required documents: passport, photos, application form, itinerary, financial proof, and employment/study letters. Make photocopies of everything — the embassy will keep the originals of some documents.
2
Book an appointment at the embassy
Contact the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ukraine (in Kyiv) or the nearest consulate to schedule an appointment. Many embassies require online booking — check their website. Walk-ins are usually not accepted.
3
Submit your application in person
Bring all documents to your appointment. The consular officer will review your paperwork, ask a few questions about your trip, and collect the fee. You'll get a receipt with a tracking number.
4
Wait for processing
Processing typically takes 5–10 working days, but can take longer during peak seasons or if additional review is needed. Track your application status online using the receipt number if the embassy offers that service.
5
Collect your passport with visa
Once approved, return to the embassy to pick up your passport with the visa sticker. Check the visa details (dates, number of entries) immediately for any errors.
6
Arrive at Incheon or Gimpo Airport
On arrival, go to the 'Foreign Passport' queue. Have your passport and visa ready. The immigration officer may ask about your accommodation and return flight — answer confidently. You'll get an entry stamp allowing a stay of up to 90 days (or as specified on your visa).
