Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date from Thailand
Your passport must have at least 6 months of remaining validity from the day you leave Thailand. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for visa-free entry
Immigration officers at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang routinely ask for proof of a flight out of Thailand within 60 days. Budget airlines check this before issuing a boarding pass. Have a printed or digital copy ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to have ready
Officers may ask where you are staying on arrival. A hotel booking confirmation or a letter from a host with their address and phone number works. Have it accessible on your phone or printed.Recommended
Proof of funds
20,000 THB per person or 40,000 THB per family
Immigration can ask you to show cash, a bank statement, or a credit card with sufficient limit. 20,000 THB (roughly $550 USD) per person or 40,000 THB per family is the official threshold. Carry a mix of cash and card.Recommended
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)TDAC
Optional online pre-registration
TDAC is a free 2-minute online form at tdac.immigration.go.th. Fill it out before your flight and you get a QR code that lets you use the faster immigration lane. Not mandatory, but saves time at the queue.Register on TDACOptional
TDAC saves time at the airport
Complete the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online at tdac.immigration.go.th before your flight. It takes 2 minutes and lets you skip the paper arrival card queue at immigration. Not required, but highly recommended.
Overstay penalties are strict
Overstaying even one day costs 500 THB per day. Over 90 days triggers a 1-year ban. Set a reminder to leave before your 60 days are up — immigration does not send reminders.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare documents before travel
Check your passport validity (6+ months from entry), print or screenshot your return ticket and first-night hotel booking. Optional: complete the TDAC form online at tdac.immigration.go.th to skip the paper arrival card.
2
Arrive at Thai immigration
At any Thai airport (BKK, DMK, HKT, CNX, etc.), follow signs to 'Passport Control' for foreigners. Join the queue for 'Visa on Arrival' or 'Foreign Passports' — there's no separate visa-free lane.
3
Present documents to officer
Hand over your passport, boarding pass, and (if asked) return ticket and hotel confirmation. The officer will check your passport validity, stamp you in, and write your permitted stay (usually 60 days). No fee.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After the stamp, proceed to baggage claim and customs. Keep the departure card stub (if you filled one) stapled in your passport — you'll need it when leaving.

Frequently asked questions

No, the visa-free entry for Ukrainian passport holders is not extendable. You must leave Thailand before the 60 days expire. If you want to stay longer, you'd need to apply for a tourist visa (TR) at a Thai embassy before travel, which allows a 60-day stay extendable by 30 days at an immigration office (cost 1,900 THB).
Officially, you should have at least 20,000 THB (or equivalent) per person or 40,000 THB per family for the duration of your stay. In practice, this is almost never checked for Ukrainian passport holders on visa-free entry, but having a credit card or cash is wise.
Overstay costs 500 THB per day (max 20,000 THB). You'll pay at the airport before departure. Overstays over 90 days can result in a 1-year ban from Thailand. Avoid it.
Yes, you can enter visa-free multiple times, but immigration may question frequent back-to-back visits (e.g., leaving for a day and returning). There's no official limit, but if you spend more than 180 days per year in Thailand, you may be flagged as a de facto resident.
As of 2026, there are no COVID-19 entry requirements for Thailand. No vaccine proof, no test, no quarantine. This can change, so check the Thai embassy website a week before travel.
TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) is an optional online form at tdac.immigration.go.th. It replaces the paper arrival card. It's free and takes 2 minutes. Filling it out before you fly means you skip the paper queue at immigration — recommended but not mandatory.
Technically, visa-free entry does not permit any work, including remote work for a foreign employer. However, enforcement is rare for short stays. For longer digital nomad stays, consider the Thailand Destination Visa (DTV) which allows remote work legally.
