Ukrainian passport holders need an eVisa to visit Vietnam. It's valid for up to 90 days, single or multiple entry. Apply online before you fly — no embassy visit required. This is the standard way to enter for tourism or business in 2026.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for your Vietnam eVisa at the official government portal at least 3 working days before departure. The eVisa costs $25 USD and allows a single or multiple entry stay of up to 90 days. Print the approval letter and bring it with your passport to immigration.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the entire stay
Your Ukrainian passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Vietnam. Immigration officers at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat check this strictly — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Vietnam
Immigration routinely asks for a confirmed onward or return ticket at the border. Airlines also check this before issuing a boarding pass — have a printed or digital copy ready showing you leave Vietnam within your eVisa validity.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a printed hotel confirmation or a letter from your host ready. Immigration officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. A booking on Booking.com or Agoda works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry at least $500 USD in cash or a credit card statement showing available funds. Immigration rarely asks, but if they do, they want to see you have enough for your stay without working illegally.Recommended
eVisa processing time
Processing usually takes 3-5 working days, but can take up to 7. Apply at least 2 weeks before your flight to be safe. Don't book non-refundable flights until your eVisa is approved.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Vietnam, not from when you apply. If your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding by the airline.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your eVisa online
Go to the official Vietnam eVisa website (evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn). Fill in your personal details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport data page. Pay the fee (around $25 USD for single entry, $50 for multiple entry) and submit. Processing takes 3-5 working days, sometimes longer. You'll receive an approval letter by email.
2
Print your eVisa and pack your documents
Print the eVisa approval letter on a plain A4 sheet. Also print or save to your phone: your return flight booking, first night hotel confirmation, and travel insurance details. Keep your passport handy.
3
Arrive at a Vietnamese airport
When you land at Hanoi (Noi Bai), Ho Chi Minh City (Tan Son Nhat), Da Nang, or any other international airport, follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Passport Control'. Join the queue for 'Foreign Passports'.
4
Present your documents at immigration
Hand over your passport and the printed eVisa. The officer will check your details, stamp your passport, and return it. They may ask for your return ticket or hotel booking — have them ready. The whole process usually takes 2-5 minutes per person.
5
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, go to baggage claim, then customs (usually nothing to declare). Exit into the arrivals hall. You're in Vietnam.
