Ugandan passport holders need an eVisa to enter Indonesia in 2026. The eVisa covers tourism, business, and transit. Apply online before you fly — processing takes 1–3 business days, so plan ahead.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Indonesia eVisa (B211A)
Apply for an Indonesia eVisa at molina.imigrasi.go.id before you fly. The B211A visa covers tourism, business, and social visits — processing takes 2–5 working days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport to immigration.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must have at least 6 months validity
Your Ugandan passport needs at least 6 months of validity beyond your planned departure date from Indonesia. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Indonesia
Immigration officers at Jakarta, Bali, and other entry points routinely ask for a return or onward ticket within your visa validity. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — they will check the date matches your visa.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Indonesia. Immigration may ask for your first night's address — having a booking confirmation avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient funds for your stay
Have at least $1,000 USD or equivalent in cash, bank statement, or traveler's cheques. Immigration officers occasionally ask to see proof you can support yourself — a recent bank statement or credit card limit confirmation works.Recommended
eVisa required — no visa on arrival
Ugandan passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Indonesia. You must apply for and receive the eVisa before you travel. Airlines will check this before you board.
Electronic arrival declaration
In addition to the eVisa, you need to fill out an online customs and health declaration (usually at beacukai.go.id) before or upon arrival. Show the QR code to customs on exit. This is separate from the visa.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Indonesian immigration eVisa portal (molina.imigrasi.go.id). Fill in your personal details, upload a scan of your passport bio page, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 1–3 business days. You'll receive the eVisa by email as a PDF.
2
Print or save the eVisa
Print a paper copy of the eVisa and also save it on your phone. Immigration officers at the airport will scan the barcode. Having both formats avoids problems if your phone dies.
3
Arrive at Indonesian immigration
At the airport, follow signs to 'Foreign Passport' or 'eVisa' counters. Hand over your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. They'll stamp you in. Keep the stamp legible — it shows your allowed stay.
4
Complete the electronic arrival declaration
Before or upon arrival, fill out the online customs and health declaration (usually at beacukai.go.id or a QR code at the airport). This is separate from the eVisa. Show the QR code to customs on exit.
