Apply for your ETA online

Wait for approval
Most ETAs are approved within 24 hours, but it can take up to 3 business days. Check your email (including spam) for the approval. If you don't hear back, check the ETA website's status tool or contact them.

Fly to Sri Lanka
When you check in for your flight, the airline will verify your ETA. Have your passport and return ticket ready. You'll land at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) in Colombo.

Go through immigration
At the airport, follow signs for 'Immigration' or 'Foreign Passports'. Have your passport and boarding pass ready. The officer will scan your passport, check your ETA in their system, and stamp you in. You'll get a 30-day stay. It's usually quick — 5-10 minutes.

Collect your bags and exit
After the stamp, grab your luggage and head through customs. You're in! If you need a SIM card or money exchange, do it after you exit the arrivals hall.
