Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for at least the full 30 days you plan to stay in the UAE. Airlines at Tashkent International Airport will check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from the UAE
Immigration officers at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound flight booking ready — they check this at the counter before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in the UAE. Officers at immigration sometimes ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Have at least 3,000 AED (roughly 800 USD) in cash or a credit card statement ready. Immigration can ask to see proof you can support yourself for 30 days — this is rare but happens.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
UAE immigration will deny entry if your passport has less than 6 months validity from your arrival date. Airlines also check this before boarding. Double-check your passport's expiry date before booking flights.
No visa fee at the airport
The 30-day visa-free entry is completely free. You don't need to pay anything at immigration. If anyone asks you for money, it's a scam.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at UAE immigration counter
At Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or Sharjah airport, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Hand over your passport. The officer will check your passport validity, may ask for your return ticket and accommodation address. No visa fee is charged.
2
Receive entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with a 30-day visit entry. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when you leave. The stamp is free and takes about 30 seconds.
3
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's no arrival card to fill out. You're now legally in the UAE for up to 30 days.

Frequently asked questions

Overstaying incurs a fine of 50 AED per day (about $14 USD). You'll need to pay this at the immigration office at the airport before you can leave. Serious overstays (over 90 days) can lead to a ban from re-entering the UAE.
No, if you're staying in the airport transit area and your connecting flight is within 24 hours, you don't need a visa. If you want to leave the airport during a layover, you can use the 30-day visa-free entry — just go through immigration as normal.
No. The visa-free entry is strictly for tourism, business meetings, or transit. You cannot take up employment, study, or engage in any paid activity. For work or study, you need a proper visa arranged by your employer or educational institution.
Yes, the same 6-month validity rule applies to all travellers, including infants and children. Make sure each child's passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry.
You will be denied boarding by the airline and refused entry by UAE immigration. Renew your passport before you travel. There are no exceptions for urgent travel.
It's not routinely asked, but immigration officers can request it. Have a credit card, cash, or a bank statement showing you have enough for your stay (around 500 AED per day). If you can't show funds, you may be refused entry.
