Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay in Armenia
Your passport needs to be valid for the full duration of your stay in Armenia. Airlines at Tashkent (TAS) will check this before boarding. Armenia does not require 6 months of remaining validity beyond your departure date.Required
Return or onward ticket
Recommended for visa-free entry
Immigration officers at Zvartnots Airport in Yerevan may ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return ticket or a ticket to your next destination ready. Budget airlines from Tashkent sometimes check this at check-in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Recommended for visa-free entry
Officers may ask where you are staying. Have a hotel booking confirmation or a letter of invitation from a host in Armenia ready. A simple printout or digital copy on your phone works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended for visa-free entry
Border control may ask to see you have enough money for your stay. Carry around $50–$100 USD per day in cash, or have a bank statement showing available funds. ATMs are widely available in Yerevan but less so in rural areas.Recommended
180 days per year — not per trip
The 180-day limit is cumulative across all visits in a calendar year. If you stay 90 days, leave for a month, and come back, you only have 90 days left. Keep track of your total days.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at any Armenian border
You can fly into Zvartnots Airport in Yerevan, or cross by land from Georgia, Iran, or Turkey. No visa application needed.
2
Join the immigration queue
At Zvartnots, follow signs to 'All Passports' or 'Foreigners'. Queues move fast — usually 10–20 minutes.
3
Hand over your passport
The officer will check your passport validity and stamp you in. They may ask your purpose of visit and where you're staying. Answer briefly.
4
Receive your entry stamp
You get a stamp in your passport with the date of entry. No visa sticker. That's it — you're in.
