Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Zambian passport holders must apply for a South Korean eVisa at visa.go.kr before departure. Processing takes 5–7 business days — do not book non-refundable flights until approved. The eVisa is single-entry and valid for 90 days from issue.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in South Korea. South Korea does not enforce the 6-month validity rule, but your airline may check for it at check-in — if your passport expires within 6 months, carry a printout of the official rule from immigration.go.kr.Required
Return or onward ticket
Immigration may ask for it
South Korean immigration officers routinely ask for proof of onward travel at the border. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to a third country ready. If you are transiting, show your next boarding pass.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Immigration may request your hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in South Korea. A printed booking confirmation from Booking.com or Agoda works fine. If staying with friends, have their name, address, and phone number written down.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Officers may ask to see you have enough money for your stay. Carry a recent bank statement showing at least ₩1,000,000 (approx. $750 USD) or have a credit card with a visible limit. ATMs are everywhere in South Korea, but having cash on arrival helps.Recommended
eVisa required — no exceptions
Zambian passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in South Korea. You must apply and receive approval before you travel. Arriving without an eVisa means immediate denial of entry.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in South Korea, not from your departure date. Double-check before applying.
