Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay in Singapore
Your Bahraini passport needs at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Singapore does not enforce a 6-month validity rule beyond your stay — just make sure it covers the dates you're in the country.Required
Return or onward ticket
Immigration may ask for proof of departure
Have a printed or digital copy of your onward ticket out of Singapore. Officers at Changi Airport check this regularly, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host's address
Keep your hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host ready. Immigration officers sometimes ask for an address in Singapore during questioning.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during the stay
Carry a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least 1,000 SGD (or equivalent). Officers rarely ask, but having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
SG Arrival Card (electronic)
Digital arrival declaration via ICA
Complete the SG Arrival Card online at the ICA website up to 3 days before arrival. You get a QR code that speeds up immigration at Changi — no paper form needed.Open ICA portalOptional
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Airlines and immigration will deny boarding if your passport has less than 6 months' validity from your entry date. Check your passport expiry before booking any flights.
No arrival card needed
Singapore abolished the paper arrival card for most nationalities. You don't need to fill anything online before landing. Just walk up to the immigration counter.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Changi Airport or other checkpoint
Queue at the 'Foreign Passports' counter. Have your passport and boarding pass ready. The officer will scan your passport, take a fingerprint (usually index finger), and may ask your purpose of visit and where you're staying.
2
Present documents if asked
If the officer asks, show your return ticket and accommodation booking. Answer clearly and briefly. Most Bahraini visitors get through in under 2 minutes.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the date of entry and the allowed stay (usually 30 days). Check the stamp before leaving the counter. If the date is wrong, ask for correction immediately.
4
Exit the arrival hall
After immigration, collect your luggage (if any) and proceed through customs. There's nothing to declare for most personal items.

Frequently asked questions

No. The visa-free entry is not extendable for Bahraini passport holders. You must leave before the 30 days expire. Overstaying can result in fines, a ban, or both.
You cannot extend the visa-free stay. You'd need to leave Singapore (e.g., a short trip to Malaysia or Indonesia) and re-enter, but immigration may question frequent back-to-back visits. For a longer single stay, apply for a visa before travel — but there's no standard longer-stay visa for tourism.
No. Singapore no longer requires a paper arrival card or an online SG Arrival Card for most nationalities, including Bahraini passport holders. Just show your passport at immigration.
No. The visa-free entry is strictly for tourism, business meetings, or social visits. You cannot take up employment, unpaid work, or enroll in a course. For work or study, you need the appropriate pass (e.g., Employment Pass, Student Pass) arranged before travel.
Overstaying is a serious offense. Penalties include a fine of up to SGD 1,000, imprisonment for up to 6 months, and possible deportation with a re-entry ban. Always leave before your stamp expires.
No, it's not required by immigration. But healthcare in Singapore is expensive — a simple hospital visit can cost hundreds of dollars. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
Yes. The same visa-free rules apply at land checkpoints (e.g., Woodlands and Tuas). You'll still need a passport valid for 6+ months and a return/onward ticket (though less likely to be checked at land borders).
