Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Turkey. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Turkish law, but some airlines may ask for at least 6 months validity — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Turkey
Immigration officers at Istanbul and Antalya airports regularly ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — a reservation confirmation from your airline works fine.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a copy of your hotel reservation, hostel booking, or a letter of invitation from your host in Turkey. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Have a bank statement, credit card, or cash equivalent to roughly $50–$100 USD per day of your stay. Immigration rarely checks this for Brazilian passport holders, but it's wise to have a recent statement on your phone.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Airlines check your passport validity before boarding. If your passport expires within 6 months of your entry date, you will be denied boarding — no exceptions. Renew your passport well in advance.
Keep a digital copy of your documents
Save photos of your passport, return ticket, and accommodation booking on your phone and in cloud storage. If your phone is lost or stolen, you'll have backups.

What happens at the border

1
Arrival at Turkish airport
After landing at Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen (SAW), follow signs to 'Passport Control' for foreign nationals. There are separate queues for e-Passport holders and other nationalities — join the 'All Passports' or 'Foreign Passports' line.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport and any requested documents (return ticket, accommodation booking). The officer will check your passport validity, scan it, and stamp your entry. This usually takes 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually nothing to declare for personal items. Exit into the arrivals hall.
