Starting in 2026, Ivory Coast passport holders need an eVisa to enter Indonesia. The online application is straightforward and covers tourism, business, or transit stays. Make sure your passport has at least six months of validity from your arrival date.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for an Indonesian eVisa at the official Molina portal. Processing takes 2–3 working days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Soekarno-Hatta and Ngurah Rai will scan the barcode.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of arrival in Indonesia. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Jakarta and Bali routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return flight. Have a printed or digital copy ready. If you overstay, the fine is 1,000,000 IDR per day (about $65 USD), paid at the airport before departure.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Indonesia. Immigration may ask for it at the counter, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or card
Have at least $1,000 USD or equivalent in cash, traveler's checks, or a credit card statement. Immigration rarely asks, but if they do, you need to show you can cover your stay.Recommended
Passport validity is strict
Indonesian immigration enforces the 6-month validity rule strictly. If your passport expires sooner, you will be denied entry. Check your passport's expiry date before booking anything.
eVisa is for single entry only
The eVisa allows one entry. If you leave Indonesia (e.g., for a day trip to Singapore), you'll need a new visa to re-enter. Plan your itinerary accordingly.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to the official Indonesian immigration eVisa website (molina.imigrasi.go.id) and complete the application. Upload your passport data page, a recent photo, and your travel details. Pay the visa fee online. Processing usually takes 1-3 business days.
2
Receive eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll receive the eVisa as a PDF via email. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. The eVisa is valid for 90 days from issue, and you can stay up to 30 days per visit.
3
Arrive at Indonesian airport
At immigration, present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp your passport. Common entry points: Jakarta (CGK), Bali (DPS), Surabaya (SUB). The process usually takes 5-10 minutes if documents are ready.
4
Complete arrival declaration
You may be asked to fill out an electronic arrival declaration (e-CD) online before landing. This is a customs and health form. Do it on the airline's Wi-Fi or via a QR code at the airport.

Processing usually takes 1-3 business days. Apply at least a week before your trip to be safe. The fee is around IDR 500,000 (about USD 35) for a 30-day stay.
No, the standard eVisa is not extendable. If you need a longer stay, you must apply for a different visa type (e.g., a social visa or business visa) before traveling.
You will be denied boarding by the airline and refused entry by Indonesian immigration. Renew your passport before applying for the eVisa.
Indonesia does not require yellow fever vaccination for travelers from Ivory Coast unless you are arriving from a country with yellow fever transmission. Check with your doctor, but it's not a standard requirement.
Technically, you can enter without one, but immigration officers often ask for proof of onward travel. It's safer to have a refundable ticket or a cheap onward flight booked.
Rejections are rare but can happen if your photo is poor or documents are incomplete. You'll get a refund minus a processing fee. Reapply with corrected documents. Common reasons: blurry passport scan, wrong photo size, or mismatched travel dates.
No, it's not mandatory for the visa application, but it's strongly recommended. Medical evacuation or hospitalization can cost thousands of dollars. Many travelers use SafetyWing or World Nomads.
