Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay in Thailand
Your passport needs to be valid for at least the full duration of your 60-day visa-free stay. Airlines at check-in will verify this — if your passport expires sooner, you may be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for visa-free entry
Immigration officers at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang routinely ask for proof of departure. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound flight within 60 days — budget airlines are especially strict about this.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed or digital hotel confirmation for your first few nights. If staying with friends, have their name, address, and phone number written down — officers may ask.Recommended
Proof of funds
20,000 THB per person or 40,000 THB per family
Immigration can request proof of financial means. Cash, a bank statement, or a credit card showing available credit all work — have something ready just in case.Recommended
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)TDAC
Optional online pre-registration
TDAC is a free 2-minute online form at tdac.immigration.go.th. Filling it out before your flight gets you through the immigration queue faster — but it's not mandatory.Open TDAC formOptional
Passport validity is strict
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. Airlines check this before you board. If you're close to expiry, renew first.
TDAC saves time
The Thailand Digital Arrival Card is free and optional, but completing it before you fly can cut your immigration queue time significantly. Do it at tdac.immigration.go.th.

What happens at the border

2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport, boarding pass, and (if asked) your return ticket and accommodation booking. The officer will scan your passport and may ask your purpose of visit.
3
Receive entry stamp

4
Collect luggage and exit

Frequently asked questions

No, the visa-free entry for Colombian passport holders cannot be extended. You must leave Thailand before the 60 days expire. If you want to stay longer, you'd need to apply for a tourist visa (single or multiple entry) from a Thai embassy before traveling.
Overstay costs 500 THB per day (about $14 USD), up to a maximum of 20,000 THB. You'll pay at the airport immigration office before departure. Overstays can also get you blacklisted if you exceed 90 days. Avoid it.
No, if you're transiting and staying airside (don't pass immigration), you don't need a visa. But if you plan to leave the airport or stay overnight, you'll use the visa-free entry for up to 60 days.
Each entry is a fresh 60-day stamp. There's no limit on how many times you can enter visa-free, but if you do it too often (e.g., back-to-back land border crossings), immigration may question your purpose. For frequent visits, consider a tourist visa.
Not required for Colombian passport holders under the visa-free scheme. But if you look like you might be working illegally or have no means of support, an officer could ask. Having a credit card or cash (around 20,000 THB equivalent) is a safe bet.
No, it's optional. But it speeds up the immigration process because your details are pre-registered. Many travelers skip it and still enter without issues. If you do use it, complete it 1-3 days before arrival.
You will be denied boarding by the airline and refused entry by Thai immigration. Renew your passport before traveling. No exceptions.
