Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay in Armenia
Your Finnish passport needs to be valid for the whole time you plan to be in Armenia. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Armenian law, but airlines may ask for at least 3 months validity at check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Armenia
Border officers at Zvartnots Airport in Yerevan routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing you leave within the 180-day visa-free window.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel. A printed booking confirmation or a letter from your host with their address works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Armenian border control can request proof you have enough money for your trip. Carry a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least 50,000 AMD (~$130) per day of your stay.Recommended
Visa-free for 180 days per year
The 180-day limit is per calendar year, not per trip. If you leave and re-enter, the clock keeps ticking. Plan your total time in Armenia carefully.
No visa extensions available
You cannot extend the 180-day visa-free stay. If you need more time, you must apply for a temporary residence permit before your 180 days expire. Start the process early — it can take weeks.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Yerevan Zvartnots Airport or land border
Most Finnish travelers fly into Zvartnots International Airport (EVN). You'll join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport and return ticket ready. The officer will stamp your passport with a 180-day entry. The process usually takes 2-5 minutes.
2
Present documents at immigration counter
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask: 'How long are you staying?' and 'Where are you staying?' Answer clearly. If asked for a return ticket, show the screenshot on your phone. No visa fee is charged.
3
Collect your passport and proceed
After the stamp, you're free to enter. Keep the entry stamp safe — you'll need it when leaving. If you overstay, you may face fines or entry bans.
