Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Finnish passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to be in Georgia. No minimum validity beyond your stay is required by Georgian law, but airlines may check for at least 3 months validity at check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Georgia
Immigration officers at Tbilisi and Kutaisi airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — they rarely check the date, just that you have one.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed or digital copy of your hotel reservation, Airbnb confirmation, or a letter from your host. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays at the border.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Have access to at least 2,000 GEL (around €650) in cash or on a card. Immigration officers almost never check this for Finnish passport holders, but it's good to have a bank statement or card balance ready.Recommended
Visa-free for 360 days
Finnish passport holders can stay up to 360 days in a calendar year without a visa. This is one of the longest visa-free allowances in the world. No need to apply for anything in advance.
Passport validity is critical
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter Georgia. Airlines check this before boarding. If your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied travel.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Tbilisi or Kutaisi airport
You'll join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport and boarding pass ready. The officer will scan your passport, ask your purpose (say 'tourism' or 'business'), and stamp you in. No forms to fill.
2
Show return ticket if asked
The officer may ask for proof of onward travel. Have your return flight or bus ticket open on your phone. If you're overlanding out, a printed itinerary helps.
3
Receive entry stamp
You'll get a stamp in your passport valid for up to 360 days. The officer may write the allowed stay date. Check it before leaving the counter.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, collect your bags from the carousel and walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have no goods to declare.
