Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your passport needs at least 6 months of validity from your entry date — South Korea enforces this strictly. Airlines at Accra check this before boarding.Required

Required for entry
Immigration officers at Incheon routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or ticket to a third country ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a confirmed hotel reservation or a signed letter from your host in South Korea. Immigration may ask for it at the counter — have it accessible on your phone.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Officers may request evidence you can support yourself. Bring a recent bank statement showing at least 1,000 USD equivalent or have a credit card with sufficient limit.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no exceptions
Ghanaian passport holders cannot enter South Korea without an approved eVisa. There is no visa on arrival, no visa waiver, and no exception for transit passengers. Apply well in advance.
Passport validity counts from entry, not departure
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in South Korea. If it expires sooner, renew it before applying for the eVisa.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your eVisa online
Go to visa.go.kr, create an account, fill in the application form, upload your passport scan and photo, and pay the fee. Processing takes 5–14 business days. You'll receive the approval by email.
2
Book your travel and accommodation
Book a return or onward flight and your first night's accommodation. Keep confirmations saved on your phone — immigration may ask to see them at the airport.
3
Arrive at Incheon or Gimpo Airport
At immigration, present your passport and the eVisa approval (printed or on your phone). The officer will check your passport validity, stamp you in, and you're through. The whole process usually takes 5–15 minutes.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After clearing immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel and walk through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel.
