Thai immigration may ask for proof of an onward or return ticket. It is strongly recommended to have a confirmed ticket out of Thailand within the allowed stay period.Recommended
Proof of fundsCarrying proof of funds can prevent issues at immigration if they ask how you'll support yourself.

You may be asked to show evidence of sufficient funds for your stay. It is advisable to carry cash or bank statements showing at least 20,000 THB per person or 40,000 THB per family.Recommended
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)This is an optional online form – it may speed up your arrival process but is not mandatory.

The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is not currently required for entry, but you may complete it voluntarily via the official TDAC website (https://tdac.immigration.go.th) before arrival.Optional
Visa fee and processing timeVisa fees and processing times can change – always confirm on the official site before applying.
Check current fees
The e-Visa fee and processing time are not specified in the database. Check the official Thai e-Visa website (https://www.thaievisa.go.th/) for the latest fee and processing duration, and apply well in advance of your travel date.Required
Apply early — no visa on arrival for Ghana
Ghanaian passport holders cannot get a visa at the airport. You must apply online at thaievisa.go.th and receive approval before you fly. Processing can take up to 15 business days, so start at least 3 weeks ahead.
TDAC saves time at immigration
The Thailand Digital Arrival Card is free and optional, but completing it online before you fly can cut your queue time significantly. Fill it out at https://tdac.immigration.go.th up to 72 hours before arrival.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-Visa online
Go to thaievisa.go.th, create an account, fill in the application, upload your documents (passport scan, photo, flight and hotel bookings, bank statement), and pay the fee. Processing takes 5–15 business days.
2
Receive and print your visa approval
Once approved, you'll get a PDF approval letter via email. Print it out — you'll need to show it at the immigration counter in Thailand.
3
Arrive at a Thai airport
At Suvarnabhumi (BKK), Don Mueang (DMK), Phuket, or Chiang Mai, follow signs to 'Immigration' for foreign passports. Have your passport, printed visa approval, return ticket, and hotel booking ready.
4
Go through immigration
Hand over your passport and visa approval letter. The officer will stamp you in for the duration allowed by your visa (usually 30 or 60 days). Keep the departure card they give you — you'll need it when you leave.
