Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your 30-day stay in Singapore. Singapore does not enforce the 6-month validity rule for Sri Lankan passport holders, but your airline may check for at least 6 months validity at check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Outbound travel proof
Immigration officers at Changi Airport routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host address
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Singapore. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient cash or bank statement
Have at least SGD 1,000 (or equivalent in foreign currency) available per person. A recent bank statement or credit card showing available credit works fine.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Airlines often check passport validity at check-in. If your passport has less than 6 months left, you may be denied boarding even before you reach Singapore.
No visa, but documents still needed
Even though you don't need a visa, immigration officers can ask for proof of onward travel, accommodation, and funds. Always carry printed or digital copies.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents before departure
Check your passport validity (6+ months from entry date), print or save your return ticket and hotel booking confirmation. Get travel insurance and a local SIM or eSIM if you want.
2
Arrive at Changi Airport or other entry point
At Changi Airport, follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Immigration'. Join the queue for foreign visitors. Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
3
Present your passport to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask your purpose of visit, how long you're staying, and where you're staying. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport with a 30-day visit pass.
4
Collect your baggage and exit
After clearing immigration, collect your luggage from the carousel and proceed through Customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel.
