Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport needs at least 6 months of remaining validity from your date of entry into Taiwan. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Taoyuan Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing your departure from Taiwan within the visa validity period.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Taiwan. Immigration may ask for it at the counter, especially if you are staying with friends or family.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient means
Have bank statements or a credit card ready showing you can cover your stay. There is no fixed minimum, but around NT$10,000 per day is a safe benchmark if questioned.Recommended
Visa approval is not guaranteed
The Taiwan Bureau of Consular Affairs reviews each application individually. Even with all documents in order, approval is at their discretion. Have a backup plan if your visa is denied.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save scans of your passport, visa, and flight tickets to your phone and email. If you lose the printed visa, a digital copy can help at immigration.
