What happens at the border

1
Apply for a Thai e-Visa
Go to thaievisa.go.th and create an account. Fill in the application, upload your passport photo, flight itinerary, hotel booking, and bank statement. Pay the fee online (around 1,000–2,000 THB depending on visa type). Wait 3–5 business days for approval. You'll receive an e-Visa PDF via email.
2
Prepare your documents
Print your e-Visa approval, keep a copy of your passport info page, onward ticket, and hotel booking. Save digital copies on your phone as backup.
3
At the airport in Nepal
At Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport, check in with your airline. They'll ask for your passport and visa. Show your e-Visa PDF. They may also ask for your return ticket.
4
Arrival at a Thai airport
At Suvarnabhumi (BKK), Don Mueang (DMK), Phuket (HKT), or Chiang Mai (CNX), follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Passport Control'. Have your passport, e-Visa, and boarding pass ready. An officer will stamp your passport with your permitted stay. Then collect your luggage and proceed through customs.
5
Complete TDAC (optional)
If you filled out the TDAC online before flying, you can use the faster lane at some airports. Otherwise, you'll go through the regular queue.
