Omani passport holders can get a Visa on Arrival (VoA) when landing in Indonesia. This is the standard entry method for tourism and short business visits. As of 2026, the VoA costs 500,000 IDR (about $32 USD) and is valid for 30 days.

Visa on arrival
Visa on arrival
Get your visa on arrival at major Indonesian airports and seaports. Pay the fee in USD or IDR cash — $35 for 30 days. Have a printed return ticket and hotel booking ready at the visa counter.Apply onlineRequired
Valid passport
Passport validity
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date in Indonesia. Airlines check this strictly at check-in — no exceptions.Required
Return or onward ticket
Return ticket
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone. If you're flying out to a third country, that ticket works too.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a booking screenshot. Immigration may ask for your first night's address — having a booking ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient funds
Have at least $1,000 USD or equivalent in cash, a credit card, or a bank statement. Immigration rarely checks this, but it's a formal requirement for visa on arrival.Recommended
VoA fee is 500,000 IDR — exact cash preferred
While major airports accept credit cards, smaller airports and land borders may only take cash. Bring Indonesian Rupiah in small denominations. ATMs are available after immigration, but the exchange rate at airport counters is poor.
eSIM saves time at the airport
Skip the SIM card queue at the airport. Install an Airalo eSIM before you fly — it activates automatically when you land. You'll have data immediately for maps, ride-hailing apps, and WhatsApp.

What happens at the border

1
Fill out the electronic customs declaration
Before you land, complete the Indonesia e-CD (Customs Declaration) online at https://ecd.beacukai.go.id. You'll get a QR code. Save it on your phone — you'll scan it after baggage claim.
2
Queue at the VoA payment counter
After deplaning, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' or 'Payment'. Pay 500,000 IDR (cash only at some airports, but major airports like Jakarta and Bali accept credit cards). You'll get a payment receipt.
3
Proceed to immigration
Hand over your passport, the payment receipt, and your boarding pass. The officer will take your photo and fingerprints, then stick the VoA sticker in your passport. This takes 2-5 minutes.
4
Collect baggage and scan customs QR
After immigration, grab your bags, then scan the e-CD QR code at the customs counter. If you have nothing to declare, you'll walk straight through.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, you can extend it once for another 30 days. Go to an immigration office (Kantor Imigrasi) in Indonesia before your first 30 days expire. The extension costs about 500,000 IDR and takes 3-5 working days. You'll need your passport, a copy of your VoA sticker, and a passport photo.
For stays over 60 days, you need a different visa before you travel. Apply for a B211A Social Budaya visa or a tourist visa through the Indonesian embassy in Oman. These can be extended multiple times up to 180 days.
No. VoA is available at major international airports: Jakarta (CGK), Bali (DPS), Surabaya (SUB), Medan (KNO), Makassar (UPG), Yogyakarta (YIA), and a few others. Check the official Indonesian immigration website for the full list. If you're flying into a smaller airport, you may need a visa in advance.
Yes. An onward ticket to any country outside Indonesia works. It just proves you're leaving Indonesia within the visa period. A flight to Singapore, Malaysia, or Australia is fine.
You'll be fined 1,000,000 IDR (about $65 USD) per day of overstay, paid at the immigration office before you leave. Overstays over 60 days can lead to deportation and a ban. Don't risk it — set a reminder on your phone.
Yes, the VoA allows short business activities like meetings, conferences, and site visits. It does not allow paid work or employment. If you're doing paid work, you need a work visa (KITAS) arranged by your employer.
Yes, at certain land border crossings (e.g., Entikong on the Malaysia border) and seaports (e.g., Batam, Tanjung Pinang). The same 500,000 IDR fee applies. Check with the specific border post before you travel.
