Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date from Morocco
Your passport needs at least two blank pages for entry and exit stamps. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires within 6 months, they will deny boarding. Morocco's border police are strict on this rule.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Morocco
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at passport control. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound flight booking ready. Overstaying your 90-day visa-free period costs 100 MAD per day (~$10), paid at the airport before departure.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed or digital copy of your hotel reservation, hostel booking, or a letter of invitation from your host. Immigration may ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Have a bank statement, credit card, or cash equivalent to roughly 500 MAD per day (~$50). Immigration rarely asks, but it's better to have it ready if questioned.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you won't be allowed to fly. Renew early.
Keep a return ticket screenshot
Immigration officers sometimes ask to see proof of onward travel. A screenshot of your return or onward ticket on your phone is enough. Don't rely on having internet access at the counter.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before you leave, check your passport is valid for 6+ months from entry. Book your return/onward ticket and first night accommodation. Save screenshots of both on your phone. Get travel insurance and a local SIM/eSIM.
2
Arrive at Moroccan immigration
At the airport (Casablanca, Marrakech, Agadir, etc.), follow signs to 'Passport Control' or 'Étrangers' (Foreigners). Join the queue for non-Moroccan passports. Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
3
Present your passport and answer questions
Hand over your passport. The officer will likely ask: 'How long are you staying?' and 'Where are you staying?' Answer clearly. They may also ask to see your return ticket or hotel booking. Be polite and direct.
4
Get your entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the entry date and the number of days allowed (usually 90). Check the stamp before walking away — make sure the dates are correct. Keep the stamp visible in your passport.
5
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually nothing to declare for personal items. Walk through the green channel unless you have goods to declare. Welcome to Morocco.

Frequently asked questions

No. The visa-free stay is not extendable. If you want to stay longer, you must leave Morocco before 90 days are up and re-enter. Overstaying can result in fines or a ban.
You'll be denied boarding by the airline or refused entry by Moroccan immigration. Renew your passport before traveling. The 6-month validity is strictly enforced.
No. If you're transiting through a Moroccan airport and staying airside (not passing through immigration), you don't need a visa. But if you plan to leave the airport, you'll need to meet the visa-free entry requirements.
Technically, no. The visa-free entry is for tourism and short visits. Remote work is a grey area — many digital nomads do it, but officially you'd need a work permit. If you're just answering emails, it's unlikely to be an issue, but don't advertise it at immigration.
Report the loss immediately to the local police and get a police report. Then contact the Slovak embassy in Rabat (or the nearest EU consulate) for an emergency travel document. You'll need the police report and a passport photo. Processing can take a few days.
No. Slovak passport holders get visa-free entry, not a visa on arrival. You don't need to apply or pay anything — just show your passport and you're stamped in.
No. Morocco does not require an arrival declaration form for Slovak passport holders. You just go through passport control with your passport.
