What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Vietnam eVisa portal (evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn). Fill in your personal details, upload a passport photo and a scanned copy of your passport data page. Pay the fee online (around $25 USD). Processing takes 3–5 working days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get a PDF via email. Print two copies — one to hand to immigration, one as backup. Keep a digital copy on your phone too.
3
Arrive at a Vietnamese airport
At the airport, go to the immigration counter. Hand over your passport, printed eVisa, and boarding pass. The officer will check your details and stamp you in. This usually takes 2–5 minutes.
4
Show your onward ticket and accommodation
Immigration may ask to see your return ticket and hotel booking. Have them ready on your phone or printed. No need to show funds unless asked.
