Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Kenya e-VisaYou must get this online before you fly – there is no visa on arrival for Uzbek citizens.
Apply online before travel
Uzbekistan passport holders must obtain an e-Visa before arriving in Kenya. Apply at the official eTA Kenya portal (etakenya.go.ke) at least a few days before departure. The e-Visa is single-entry and is not extendable.Required
Passport validityCheck your passport expiry – if it's less than 6 months away, renew it before booking travel.
At least 6 months from arrival
Your Uzbekistan passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended date of entry into Kenya.Required
Blank passport pagesKenyan immigration will stamp your passport – make sure there's a free page for it.
At least 1 blank page
Your passport must have at least 1 blank page for the entry stamp. It is wise to have 2 blank pages to avoid issues.Required
Return or onward ticketHave your flight booking ready – you might be asked to show it at check-in or upon arrival.
Proof of departure
You must have a confirmed return or onward flight ticket showing you will leave Kenya before your e-Visa expires. Immigration may ask to see it.Required
Proof of fundsIt's not always checked, but having proof of money helps avoid problems at immigration.
Sufficient money for your stay
Be ready to show evidence of sufficient funds (cash, cards, or bank statements) to cover your stay in Kenya. There is no fixed amount, but you should have enough for accommodation, food, and expenses.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccination certificateIf you've been in a yellow fever area, you'll need the certificate – otherwise, it's not needed.
Required if arriving from an endemic country
If you are arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever transmission (or have transited through one), you must present a yellow fever vaccination certificate. Uzbekistan is not a yellow fever endemic country, but check your transit route.Required
Arrival declarationYou don't need to fill out any extra online forms – just your e-Visa and passport.
Not required
Kenya does not require a separate arrival declaration form for Uzbek citizens. The e-Visa application serves as your entry authorization. Not required
Apply early — don't wait
E-visa processing can take longer than the advertised 2-3 days, especially during peak travel seasons. If you apply less than a week before your flight, you risk missing it. Also, double-check your name and passport number on the e-visa — any mismatch means you'll be refused entry.
E-visa is not extendable
Once you're in Kenya, you cannot extend your e-visa. Plan your trip so you leave before the expiry date. Overstaying even a day can lead to fines and future entry problems.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-visa online
Go to https://etakenya.go.ke/ and fill out the application. You'll need a digital photo, passport scan, and travel details. Pay the fee online (around $50 for a single-entry visa). Processing typically takes 2-3 business days, but can take longer — apply at least a week before your flight.
2
Receive your e-visa by email
Once approved, you'll get a PDF. Print it and also save it on your phone. Double-check that your name and passport number match exactly — any typo means you'll be turned back.
3
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (Nairobi)
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration'. Have your passport, e-visa, and return ticket ready. The officer will scan your passport, stamp it, and let you through. The whole process usually takes 15-30 minutes if you have all documents.
4
Proceed to baggage claim and customs
After immigration, collect your bags and walk through customs. Declare any items if required. Then you're free to exit.
