What happens at the border

1
Gather your documents
Collect your passport, completed application form, photo, travel itinerary, financial proof, and any other supporting documents. Make photocopies of everything.
2
Submit your application at the embassy
Visit the South Korean Embassy in Kigali (or the nearest consulate if you're outside Rwanda). Submit your documents in person — some embassies require an appointment, so call or email ahead.
3
Pay the visa fee
Pay the non-refundable visa fee at the embassy. Keep the receipt — you'll need it to collect your passport.
4
Wait for processing
Processing typically takes 5–10 working days, but can take longer depending on your visa type and the embassy's workload. Don't book flights until you have the visa in hand.
5
Collect your passport with visa
Return to the embassy to pick up your passport with the visa sticker. Check that all details (name, passport number, dates) are correct before leaving.
6
Arrive in South Korea
At Incheon or Gimpo airport, join the 'Foreign Passport' queue. Present your passport with the visa, and be ready to show proof of accommodation and return flight if asked. You'll receive an entry stamp allowing a stay as specified on your visa.
