What happens at the border

1
Apply for your e-Visa online
Go to thaievisa.go.th, create an account, and fill out the application. Upload a scanned copy of your passport bio page, a recent passport-style photo, flight itinerary, and hotel booking. Pay the fee (around 2,000 THB for a tourist visa) by credit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your visa approval
You'll get an email with your visa approval letter. Print it out and keep a digital copy on your phone. The visa is usually valid for 60 days from the date of issue.
3
Prepare your documents for arrival
Before you fly, gather your passport (with 6+ months validity), printed visa approval, return ticket, and hotel booking. Fill out the TDAC online if you want to skip the paper form at the airport.
4
Arrive at a Thai airport and go through immigration
At Suvarnabhumi (BKK), Don Mueang (DMK), Phuket (HKT), or Chiang Mai (CNX), follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' — since you have a visa, go to the regular immigration counters. Hand over your passport, visa approval, and boarding pass. The officer may ask to see your return ticket and hotel booking. They'll stamp you in for up to 60 days.
