Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay in Singapore
Your passport needs to be valid for the full duration of your stay in Singapore. Immigration officers at Changi Airport rarely ask for 6 months of remaining validity for short visits, but your airline might check it at check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Singapore
Immigration at Changi routinely asks for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — they check this at the counter before you enter the arrival hall.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host's address
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Singapore. Officers at the counter sometimes ask where you're staying, and having the address ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient cash or bank statement
Have at least 1,000 SGD in cash, a credit card, or a recent bank statement. Immigration rarely checks this for short visits, but it's a formal requirement and they can ask.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Airlines check this before you board. If your passport expires within 6 months of your entry date, you will be denied boarding — no exceptions. Check your passport now.
No arrival card needed
Singapore no longer requires the SG Arrival Card for air travelers. Just your passport and onward ticket. Land travelers from Malaysia may still need to fill one out — check before you cross.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Changi Airport
After landing at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Foreign Passports'. The queue moves quickly — usually 10–20 minutes.
2
Approach the immigration counter
Hand over your passport and any supporting documents if asked. The officer will scan your passport, take a photo, and stamp it. No fingerprints are taken for Taiwanese passport holders.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a 30-day visit pass. Check the date — it's your departure deadline. Keep the stamp legible.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel and proceed through customs (green channel if nothing to declare). You're free to enter Singapore.
