What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Make sure your passport has 6+ months validity from your landing date. Book your return/onward ticket and first night accommodation. If staying over 45 days, apply for the eVisa online at least 3 business days before departure.
2
Arrive at the airport in Vietnam
At any international airport (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, etc.), follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Foreign Passports'. Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
3
Queue at immigration
Join the line for 'Foreign Passports'. When it's your turn, hand over your passport and any requested documents (return ticket, accommodation confirmation). The officer may ask a few questions about your trip.
4
Receive your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a 45-day visa-free entry (or the eVisa validity if applicable). Check the stamp for the correct dates before leaving the counter.
5
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. You're free to enter Vietnam.
