Visa on arrival
Apply at the airport upon arrival
Kuwaiti passport holders can get a visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Have USD cash ready — the fee is $30 for 15 days, $50 for 30 days, or $125 for 90 days. Fill in the arrival form at the visa counter before joining the queue.Check eVisa portalRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months from arrival
Your passport needs at least 6 months of validity beyond your arrival date in Nepal. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for visa on arrival
Immigration officers at Kathmandu airport routinely ask for proof of a return or onward flight. Have a printed copy or a screenshot of your booking ready — they may check it before issuing the visa.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter from your host in Nepal. While not always checked, having it ready avoids delays at the visa counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or card
Immigration may ask how you'll support yourself during your stay. Have at least $200 USD in cash or a credit card statement ready — ATMs are available at the airport.Recommended
Cash only at the visa counter
The visa-on-arrival payment counter does not accept credit or debit cards. Bring crisp US dollars (no tears, no marks) or euros. ATMs are available after immigration, but you'll need cash before that.
Photo booth available at the airport
If you forget your passport photos, there's a photo booth near the visa counter. It costs a few dollars and prints instantly. But it's faster to bring your own.

What happens at the border

1
Fill out the arrival form
On the plane or at the airport, grab a 'Tourist Visa on Arrival' form. Fill in your details: passport info, flight number, hotel address. Keep it simple.
2
Queue at the visa counter
After deplaning at Tribhuvan International Airport, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival'. There are two queues: one for payment, one for visa issuance. Pay the fee first at the bank counter (cash only), then take the receipt to the visa officer.
3
Submit documents and get visa
Hand over your passport, completed form, payment receipt, and photos. The officer will process it in a few minutes. You'll get a visa sticker in your passport. Then proceed to immigration control.
4
Pass through immigration
Show your passport with the new visa to the immigration officer. They'll stamp you in. That's it — you're in Nepal.
